Botox is a wonderful tool to relax wrinkles and rejuvenate your face. BOTOX® was the world’s first approved botulinum toxin type A treatment and it is the first and only treatment FDA-approved to temporarily make moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines look better. The treatment requires minimum to no downtime.
How are wrinkles formed? A lot of factors can contribute to wrinkles, they can happen when there is a reduction of collagen and elastin fibers which can change the structure of the skin, skin damage caused by free radicals from the sun and the environment can weaken the skin, the unavoidable genetics and aging, and repeated muscle contractions. Muscle contractions like frowning, raising your eyebrows, squinting, and laughing, can gradually result in deep wrinkles and facial lines like crow’s feet, glabellar lines, forehead lines, chin tension, gummy smile, bunny lines, downward pull on the corners of the mouth, and Platysmal Bands on the neck.
How does Botox work? Botox works beneath the surface of the skin to temporarily reduce the underlying muscle activity so the wrinkles on your face can relax and fade away.
5 Signs You Might Get Bad Botox Results
Sign 1: Your provider uses fake Botox
This one is very scary. Real Botox is sold and manufactured by Allergan Aesthetics. There are a lot of fake copies out there and you should avoid them at all cost! As NewBeauty says “you should only go to a board-certified plastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon, or dermatologist to get any kind of injectable done.”
At Rejuvent Medical Spa, we get our Botox directly from Allergan and we are listed as providers on their website. Before you visit your provider, check that they are listed and authorized specialists. Research Botox providers by zip code and state – or by zip code. Our city and state are Scottsdale, AZ and our zip code is 85260.
Sign 2: You go for too “good of a deal”
This one happens a lot. Groupon Botox deals are the worst! Specials that are too good to be true, usually are, and can damage your face!
Dr. Grossman on NewBeauty says “Maybe that practitioner isn’t using branded products—remember the chiropractor in Florida who sent people to the ICU injecting boot-leg product imported from China? Discounts are typically a sign that the injectors are using a blanket treatment protocol for everyone. There are so many people who inject these days who do not fully understand facial musculature and the science behind how Botox works. Botox should not be treated like a product you are purchasing, for which you are trying to get the best price, but rather like a procedure you are having done, for which you want the best result.”
Experience matters. We understand that everyone wants to save money, so at Rejuvent, we pass our savings from Allergan directly to our patients. We also offer referral pricing, and award LuxePoints on all Botox treatments.
Sign 3: Your injector uses a “template” approach
This one is very common with Botox injectors that took a weekend course. These providers are not medically trained or experts in facial anatomy and inject using a template that might not work for everyone. Beware of these injectors as the results often show a “frozen look”.
So how can you avoid it?
The best thing to do before your schedule your Botox appointment is to investigate before and after results on your provider’s website. Not on their social media accounts. Did you know that we see hundreds of images on Instagram and Facebook that are fake, or belong to other providers? To see real before and after photos, stick with the provider’s website and request to see photos in-office before your injection appointment. When you arrive at the office look at the staff, do they look frozen?
At Rejuvent, we have one of the largest before and after photo galleries in the state. We have been photographing our patients for analysis of results since 2004.
Sign 4: Your injector doesn’t take YOU into account
Wrinkle Relaxer injections are not a “one-size-fits-all” scenario. An experienced injector should be analyzing your face and facial movements before the injection, they should ask you questions about your wishes and take into account your specific needs and your facial structure and anatomy. If the Botox injector is following a cookie-cutter approach, your Botox results might look better on someone else’s face!
At Rejuvent, both Dr. Bomer and Dr. Bouzoukis are facial anatomy experts, they use Dr. Bomer’s technique and they have trained Linda Esposito to achieve the same results they achieve. Both doctors are MDs, and ENTs (Otolaryngologists) and are expert injectors, specializing in facial anatomy. They customize the treatment to your skin after analyzing clinical photographs taken before injections.
Sign 5: Your provider does not analyze your face correctly
“Not looking natural” is a vague term, but Scottsdale, AZ, facial plastic surgeon Kelly Bomer, MD, breaks it down in regards to neuromodulators: “My definition of ‘Bad Botox’ is a result that looks unnatural at rest or while moving. It is important to ask about retaining natural movement of brow elevation when actively raising the brow and normal cheek elevation when smiling. A common ‘Bad Botox’ result is the ‘Spock Brow,’ where the tail of the brow is unnaturally high and spiked and the medial brow is unnaturally low. And for the crow’s-feet area, if Botox is injected in a pattern that lowers cheek elevation, one can get a look of hollow eyes and chipmunk cheeks.” This often happens with inexperienced Botox injectors.
The above excerpt is from NewBeauty.com. Dr. Bomer is a contributor to NewBeauty magazine and she is part of their Brain Trust panel.
At Rejuvent, our Botox injectors take several clinical photographs to see how your skin moves so they can customize the injections to YOUR face!
What to avoid when getting Botox? Avoid inexperienced injectors, injectors with no proof of their results, cookie-cutter injection treatment, fake Botox, injectors that only use Botox instead of using Botox, Dysport and Xeomin, injectors without facial anatomy expertise, and ‘too good to be true’ specials.
As we get older a lot of changes happen in our bodies. Some of these changes manifest in ways that are difficult to reverse, or even correct. The quality of our skin, hair, and nails decline and we must take certain steps to slow down the decline. A lot of skin-related changes can be improved with the right skin care regimen and certain skin treatments can work wonders to bring it back to its former glory. But how about your hair? Let’s talk about the changes to your hair and the best solutions to actually grow new hair!
Shampoos, conditioners, and masks can improve how the hair feels but most of them do little, if nothing at all, to help you grow more hair. Supplements can help infuse needed vitamins and beneficial ingredients to fight oxidation and nurture a healthier scalp so the hair can grow but, it is a slow process and one that takes months to see results. It is important to realize that hair growth depends on many factors, things like diet, hair styling, pollution, UV exposure, and the hardest factor of all – genetics. Sure, you can improve your diet, use better shampoos, avoid harsh hair styling and protect your hair from damage but what you really need is to keep more of your hair in the growth cycle. Rejuvent sells the best 2 supplements for hair restoration and hair growth – Viviscal Professional and Nutrafol Advanced Hair Growth System
The hair growth cycle is simple. There are 4 phases.
Phase 1 is the Anagen Phase – In this phase the hair grows – this is where we want the hair follicle to stay! It lasts anywhere from 2 to 7 years. As we age, the length of the Anagen phase decreases, causing the hair to become weaker and thinner after each hair growth cycle. For this reason, it’s very important to ensure your diet is rich in specific nutrients to maintain normal, healthy hair growth. Phase 2 is the Catagen phase – In this phase, the hair starts to transition and it is cut off from the blood supply. It lasts around 1 to 3 weeks. Phase 3 is the Telogen Phase – Here the hair rests. It lasts for 1 to 4 months. When you are stressed, lacking proper nutrients, or have any health issues more hairs enter this phase. Phase 4 is the Exogen Phase – In this phase, your hair falls out. It lasts for 2 to 4 months. Then the cycle starts again with the Anagen Phase – at the beginning of this phase, the hair is growing below the skin!

Grow New Hair with PRP Hair Loss Treatment
At Rejuvent, we offer the amazingly effective – PRP for Hair Loss Treatment. This treatment uses your own growth factors to energize the hair follicles and signal more hairs to enter the Anagen phase. During your appointment, the nurse will harvest your blood, spin it in a centrifuge and separate the platelet-rich-plasma which will be injected in the scalp areas where you noticed more hair loss. The Platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) is a substance rich with your growth factors, these growth factors are known for their powers of communication, they stimulate hair follicles to grow.
The 3 PRP for Hair Loss treatments are spaced 6 weeks apart and patients are reporting incredible improvement. Call us at 480-889-8880 today and schedule a consultation to see if PRP for Hair Loss is a good treatment for you!
1-It rejuvenates the vulva and the vagina – the inside and outside (other treatments address the inside or outside).
2- It helps make your vagina look and feel more youthful.
3- It helps your vagina be more sensitive to stimuli. (Yes, it may even improve orgasms)
4- ThermiVa helps urinary urgency and leakage, giving you more comfort and confidence.
5- There is no downtime with ThermiVa. You can resume sexual activity immediately!
(Other treatments require some time to recover!)
Ok, let’s talk about those top 5 reasons why ThermiVa is Amazing for Vaginal Rejuvenation…
Number 1 – Treats the Inside and Out. Unlike other non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation treatments, ThermiVa treats the internal vaginal canal and the vulva (which includes the labia majora, labia minora and clitoris), it is the only non-surgical solutions for both areas.
Other treatments researched: MonaLisa Touch, Femilift, and FemTouch, these treatments use an ablative CO2 laser to heat the tissue. They treat only the inside of the vagina.
Number 2 – More Youthful Look and Feel. ThermiVa helps tighten the inside of the vagina by promoting collagen growth, increased blood flow and improved nerve supply. It uses controlled thermal energy to heat the outer area (vulva), clitoral area and the vaginal canal. Most patients report that after ThermiVa the outside of their vagina looked more youthful and that the inside felt tighter.
Number 3 – More Sensitivity Equals More Pleasure. Most patients reported that they felt that their vagina was more sensitive and that they had an increase in sexual sensation.
Number 4 – Less Urgency and Leakage Means Less Worry. ThermiVa treats mild urinary incontinence and helps reduce urinary urgency. In our in-office survey, most patients reported that ThermiVa has provided 75% improvement!
Number 5 – No Downtime Means No Need to Wait to Experience the Results. Other treatments researched recommend 3 days without sex, tampons or any type of penetration, and there is a possibility of a light bloody discharge. ThermiVa does not have any downtime, which means you can have sex right after treatment!
I have to be honest when Rejuvent introduced ThermiVa Vaginal Rejuvenation I was impressed with the benefits but was uncertain if I wanted to have the procedure.
Why? Because I work at Rejuvent and did not want my co-workers to see my private parts. As time went by I heard more and more about the procedure and talked with Linda Esposito, the Rejuvent Nurse that performs the treatment. I read patient’s reviews, talked with Dr. Bomer about her experience, and slowly warmed up to booking my own ThermiVa treatment.
Let me give you a little background on me. I am 53 years old, I have been married for 30 years to an amazing, energetic, healthy and loving husband. I had 2 children via c-section and an early total hysterectomy, over 10 years ago. From a health standpoint, I am healthy but going through menopause symptoms for many many years, these symptoms include all the usual post-menopausal stuff, vaginal dryness, loss of libido, hormone imbalancement, etc.
As a sexually active woman, I wanted to enjoy sex more, I wanted to have more feeling and sensation and wanted to tighten my vagina and rejuvenate the outer area. I felt that my tissues down there were looser than they used to be, the vagina itself felt larger and the dryness was getting worse and worse. So I researched all the options for vaginal rejuvenation, including ThermiVa and decided that it resulted in better outcomes, with less risk and complications. Some of the other options for non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation had downtime, tissue burning and they either addressed the outside or the inside. I was looking for a solution that addressed the vagina and the vulva, so ThermiVa was perfect for me!
I knew that ThermiVa’s benefits were:
Strengthens vaginal muscles
Improves painful intercourse
Improves vaginal looseness
Improves vaginal appearance (vulva)
Increases vaginal moisture
Reduces urinary urgency and leakage
I felt that I could have improved from all these benefits. Some more than others, but they were all applicable to me. I never really had urinary incontinence or leakage, but I did have what I call a “worried bladder”, what I mean by that is that I was always worried I had to go, at the movies I felt that my bladder could not wait, at car trips I worried about having to go too often.
For a Valentine Day celebration, my husband presented me with the ThermiVa Package which consists of 3 treatments, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart.
When the big day arrived I was excited and over my original trepidations of having my co-worker perform the procedure. During the one hour procedure, I did not feel any pain and only minor discomfort. At times the wand felt hotter but Linda kept moving it and talking with me to distract me. If I had to put it in some sort of 0 to 5 scale, my response would be zero. The heat was very tolerable. After the procedure, I felt no pain or even cramps (I read that others had minor cramp like symptoms but I did not). Three hours after my procedure I had sex. It was amazing. Not only I felt my vaginal canal tighter, it was for sure more sensitive and had more ridges. The dryness had considerably improved and I am happy to report that my orgasms were stronger, longer and more frequent. I had no real worries about the vulva and external appearance but I did notice the skin was more tucked in and it looked a lot prettier.
During the weeks before my second procedure, I continued to have sex and felt that the improvement stayed the same. During the second procedure, it was pretty much the same except that I knew what to expect and was even more excited about getting more improvement. After the second procedure, I did have minor cramps but they were not too painful and I took 2 Ibuprofens which completely took the pain away. We had sex 5 or six hours after it and again I noticed that the canal was even tighter and more sensitive, it seemed that the improvements were just getting better for me!
My last ThemiVa procedure was yesterday and I am thrilled to report that ThermiVa has completely changed my vagina. I no longer feel that I have an “old” vagina. My vagina is more sensitive, tighter, more textured and full of ridges, my orgasms have improved in strength, speed, and duration. My vagina’s exterior has a younger appearance and the inside is enjoying it’s improved youthful attributes.
My ThermiVa experience was very positive and my results were more impressive than what I expected! ThermiVa was a great choice for me, if you have any questions I will be glad to answer them by phone or email.

Unveil fresh and radiant skin with Chemical Peels! Harness your body’s amazing ability to heal with just the right peel to transform your skin into a state of health and luminosity. Everyone will be asking you, “What is your secret?”
Dr. Bomer considers chemical peels to be an essential component of maintaining healthy, youthful skin, and gets peels herself 6-8 times a year based on her skin’s needs. Chemical Peels are effective skin treatments that address a myriad of skin concerns:
Discoloration and uneven skin tone
Age spots and hyperpigmentation
Fine lines and wrinkles
Dull complexion
Flat dehydrated skin
Acne or acne scars
Melasma
Sun-damaged skin
Aging-related issues
How do Chemical Peels work?
Chemical peels use well-known ingredients in higher concentrations that promote skin rejuvenation, such as alpha hydroxy acids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid and retinol to name a few. These acids exfoliate the dead skin in the outer layer (epidermis) and stimulate collagen and elastin production in the deeper layer (dermis). Peels can also breakdown melanin (brown pigment) deposits in the dermis, which lightens age spots.
What are the benefits of Chemical Peels?
Exfoliates the epidermis, leading to smoother, softer skin
Dissolves sebum and cellular debris from pores
Promotes collagen and elastin production
Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
Reduces acne blemishes and helps prevent future breakouts
Promotes a more even skin tone
Lifts pigmentation
Increases radiance
Fades dark spots
Improves laxity
What are the different types of Chemical Peels?
There are several types of Chemical Peels and these peels reach different depths of the skin. The skin depth targeted varies according to the results we want to achieve. Mild peels refresh the skin, and allow you to return to your daily activities quickly. Deeper peels reach further and provide a more dramatic reversal of damage from the effects of sun exposure and require a little more recovery time. Certain peels are specific to brighten and promote radiance, other peels are used to aggressively resurface the skin. At Rejuvent, we have the perfect chemical peel to dramatically improve your skin…
Chemical Peels Available at Rejuvent
At Rejuvent, your treatments are tailored to your specific skin needs. It is critical to prepare the skin for a peel with quality, Medical Grade skin care prior to getting a peel. Prepared skin will recover faster and have a more dramatic result from a peel compared with a non-prepared face. We create a custom skin care regimen to prepare your skin for the peel. Once the skin is prepared with Medical Grade skincare, it better absorbs the peel and maximizes the results. We offer Chemical Peels specific to each skin issue and area of concern and have added several levels of peels to better serve our patients. Below are some of the peels we offer.

What is Botox?
Botox Cosmetics is a wrinkle relaxer (neuromodulators) that once injected prevent muscles from contracting, thus relaxing the wrinkles. Botox was the first neuromodulator approved by the FDA and since that time, Dysport and Xeomin have been introduced and achieve similar results. At Rejuvent, our doctors, and nurse injector use all 3 products for different areas because each one delivers distinct results.
These products weaken the muscle action in the area injected and prevent these same muscles from contracting and wrinkling the skin. After treatment, the muscles injected with the neuromodulator gradually become relaxed allowing the overlying skin to appear smooth and unwrinkled.
How do they work microscopically?
For muscles to contract, a chemical messenger (neurotransmitter) is released at the junction where the nerve endings meet muscle cells. This neurotransmitter, Acetylcholine, attaches to receptors on the muscle cells and causes the muscle cells to contract. Injected Botox, Dysport or Xeomin prevent the release of Acetylcholine, which means that the muscle does not get the message to contract.
What areas can be treated with Botox?
At Rejuvent we treat forehead lines, crow’s feet, bunny lines, downturned mouth, Glabella, under eye wrinkles, lip lines, gummy smile, square jaw, dimpled chin, platysmal bands and excessive underarm sweating.
Botox has been approved for many areas, but the most important factor you need to keep in mind is the experience of the injector. Before you get Botox choose a provider with face anatomy experience as there are a lot of nerves and muscles in the face. At Rejuvent, Dr. Bomer and Dr. Bouzoukis are facial plastic surgeons and are experts in facial anatomy. They have many years of experience in injecting Botox and specialize in natural looking Botox results.
Botox Treatment Areas
Forehead
Lifting eyebrows
Crow’s Feet
Glabella (11’s between eyebrows)
“Bunny lines” on the sides of the nose
Gummy smile reduction
Lifting up the corners of the mouth (DAO)
Reduce chin dimpling
Lessening the appearance of neck bands
Reduce underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis)
Wrinkle Relaxers – Neuromodulators:
Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are popular, effective and safe injectables that reduce facial lines and creases for 3-4 months. They reduce the strength of targeted muscles in the face, softening the contractions that cause the skin to wrinkle. Over time, these dynamic wrinkles (such as in the forehead and the crow’s feet that form during muscle contraction) become permanent wrinkles in the skin – even at rest. Regular injections not only prevent most dynamic skin wrinkles, but milder static wrinkles may be improved as well. Targeted placement can also relax the different muscles that pull the eyebrows up or down. Both brow position and shape can be adjusted with precise injections to maximize aesthetically pleasing results. Placement in the crow’s feet region not only softens the creases but keeps the eyes more open when smiling.
Rejuvent’s Expert Injectors are facial plastic surgeons with intimate knowledge of the facial anatomy. Every patient receives customized dosing and placement to treat their individual needs. All syringes are individually drawn up immediately prior to your injection to ensure a completely specialized treatment.

FotoFacial treatment is a light based therapy to rejuvenate skin. Unlike a laser which generates a beam of intense light of a single wavelength, FotoFacial creates an intense pulsed light (IPL) beam across a range of wavelengths. As the light contains a broad spectrum, it is absorbed by different chromophores (light absorbing molecules) within the skin, breaking up the pigments. This technology enables treatments of both brown, melanin pigments as well as red vascular lesions.
FotoFacial has been proven to treat vascular lesions (red & pink spots), reduce brown spots, age spots, skin redness, freckles, discoloration, facial spider veins and uneven skin tones caused by sun damage. This non-invasive procedure also plumps the skin by stimulating new collagen production. FotoFacial can markedly improve texture, tone, color and overall smoothness of the skin, with no downtime.
FotoFacial can also be combined with Levulan to reverse pre-cancerous skin changes associated with sun exposure. This creates greater overall skin rejuvenation, but there is moderate downtime compared with FotoFacial alone.
What happens during my appointment?
1. Target areas cleaned with a mild cleanser
2. Topical numbing gel applied for additional comfort
3. Light Blast delivered with handheld device
4. Sunscreen applied for protection
How many treatments will I need?
Depends on the severity of skin damage. A package of several sessions is recommended for optimum results.
Are there any side effects?
Minor redness is possible immediately following the procedure. Sunscreen protection is a must and you must limit overall sun exposure until the skin has healed.
