Volumizing Filler

Restore Youthful Contours with Volumizing Injectable Fillers

Rejuvent Liquid FaceliftAlthough there are many fillers available, the best results are achieved when an expert injector creates a treatment plan utilizing a customized combination of fillers inappropriate treatment areas and depths. No two patients have the same needs, so at Rejuvent, Drs. Bomer and Bouzoukis analyze the patient’s volume loss using state-of-the-art photography and imaging, from which they base their recommendations and individualized plan for the patient.

Volumized Lips with lip Filler

Except for Radiesse, all the fillers described below are hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule found throughout our body in skin and connective tissue. When synthesized as a gel, it makes an excellent choice to replace lost soft tissue volume that occurs with aging throughout the face. Depending upon the location and volume injected, results may last 6 months to over 1 year. Each filler has specific properties- density, viscosity and propensity to migrate that makes them most suitable for specific facial zones and injection depths.

Juvéderm Voluma:

Juvéderm Voluma XC injectable gel is FDA-approved for deep injection in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss. It provides great lift, helping to restore contour and a more youthful profile.

Juvéderm XC:

Juvéderm XC smooths moderate to severe parentheses lines and wrinkles (nasolabial folds) to create a smoother appearance.

Juvéderm Ultra XC:

Juvéderm Ultra XC injectable gel is excellent for plumping youthful but thin lips, or for restoring lost volume to aging lips.

Juvéderm Volbella XC:

Juvéderm Volbella XC adds subtle volume to the lips and smooths the appearance of vertical lip lines.

Restylane Silk:

Restylane Silk is designed specifically to provide natural-looking results in the lip area by using smaller, smoother hyaluronic acid particles than those used in other Restylane® products.

Restylane Lyft:

Restylane Lyft is for deep implantation into the facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, for cheek augmentation and for the correction of age-related volume loss.

Radiesse:

Radiesse is the only non-hyaluronic acid filler used at Rejuvent. It is a paste-like filler made of calcium microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. This is called calcium hydroxylapatite. It is similar in molecular structure to our bones. It is the densest filler used and provides excellent lift. It dissolves slowly over time. Studies suggest it may last longer than most hyaluronic acid fillers.

The Artiste Injection System

Dr. Bomer and Dr. Bouzoukis use the Artiste Injection System to enhance their already superior technique for filler injections perfected at and unique to Rejuvent.  We are one of the very few the only office in Arizona using this technology!

Traditionally, thumb pressure is used to manually dispense the filler through the syringe, but the Artiste system uses air pressure which allows Dr. Bomer and Dr. Bouzoukis to hold the syringe like a pen and control the flow of filler. This allows the filler to be injected at a constant rate that cannot be reproduced with traditional methods. A steady flow of filler is beneficial for creating smooth and even contours without lumps. This technique grants greater control, precision and a level of accuracy that cannot be achieved with traditional manual injections.

Benefits of using the Artiste Injection System:

  • Precision and accuracy
  • Greater control for smoother, natural results
  • Less risk of bruising and swelling
  • Consistent results

Frequently Asked Questions Related to Volumizing Fillers

How to fillers volumize the face?

As we age, we lose fat, collagen and elasticity in the skin. These losses cause deep folds and sagging. Facial Fillers are injectable gels that create lift and add volume to key areas of the face to minimize the signs of aging.

At Rejuvent they are injected into the dermis with a fine needle using the Artiste Injection System to maximize flow and precision.

Research indicates that repeated injections may help stimulate your body’s own natural production of collagen. Collagen will help reduce the number of lines and wrinkles. It is important to maintain a schedule as over time and continued use, less filler is needed to achieve the same look.

All wrinkle fillers should be performed in a medical setting with sterile instruments and by properly trained physicians. At Rejuvent, only our facial surgeons, Dr. Bomer and Dr. Bouzoukis who are both facial anatomy experts, inject filler.

What are facial fillers made of?

Restylane, Juvéderm, Perlane, Voluma and Belotero are hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in our bodies. In skin tissue, hyaluronic acid is a substance that fills the space between collagen and elastin fibers. One of the characteristics of Hyaluronic Acid is that it attracts water up to 1000 its volume, it continues to attract water to sustain volume after they are injected.

Radiesse is made up of synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite suspended in a gel. Calcium hydroxylapatite is found naturally in human bones and is a mineral-like compound. As the gel is absorbed by the body, it leaves the calcium molecule behind. Your body’s natural collagen eventually fills in the space that the gel left behind.

How long do facial fillers last?

Because each face is very different, and every person’s body metabolizes filler differently, each outcome will vary.

Most fillers advertise they last up to one year, however; this depends on the initial amount, the facial area, the age of the patient, the desired results and the depth of the wrinkles and folds.

At Rejuvent, the doctors will analyze your photographs and patient history and devise a proposed schedule to maximize your rejuvenation.

When will I see my volumizing fillers results?

Keep in mind that everyone is different and everyone’s skin heals differently but, generally speaking, you will look your best after facial filler at 3-4 weeks after the injection.

It is important that you do NOT have an important social event for at least 10 days after filler so your face can recover from any bruising and discoloration.

How can I maintain my new Liquid Facelift?

Stay hydrated – hyaluronic acid binds to water, the more hydrated you are the better you will look.

Take daily care of your skin to increase elasticity, without skin elasticity, there is only so much filler we can add. We recommend all patients be on a customized skincare program. We can create one for you to help increase collagen and hyaluronic acid, which will increase your skin’s elasticity. These medical grade skin care products can also help with lines and wrinkles, skin texture, pigmentation and radiance.

It is best not to go more than 6 months between filler appointments. By maintaining this schedule, you will not only be able to maintain your look but also make continued improvements (when adequate amount of filler are placed). After two years of this type of schedule, the majority of patients will require less filler per visit than during the first two years.

I am on a prescription blood thinner. Is that okay?

Let us know before your volumizing filler appointment if you are on a prescription blood thinner.

When can I resume my workout schedule after filler injections?

Do NOT work out the same day after the filler – the next day is okay.

Should I follow my regular skin care regimen after filler injections?

Do NOT put on Retin-A or strong Retinol products the night after filler injections – okay to resume the day after.

If I am tender or sore after injections, what can I take?

You can take Tylenol (acetaminophen).

Do NOT take ibuprofen or aspirin for 36 hours after filler.

How can I minimize the chance of bruising from the filler injection?

  • Do NOT take any aspirin, ibuprofen or similar products (Advil, Motrin, Aleve) for 2 weeks prior to filler
  • Avoid fish oil, Vitamin E, and Gingko Biloba for 2 weeks prior to filler
  • Eat spinach, kale and celery the week before to boost your levels of Vitamin K
  • Apply VitaMedica Arnica + K Cream to areas most affected by bruising (around the mouth and under the eyes) for several days before injection. This contains Arnica and Vitamin K and is available for purchase at Rejuvent or at RejuventSkinCare.com
