FAQ – Dermal Fillers Frequently Asked Questions

How can I minimize the chance of bruising from the filler injection?

  • Do NOT take any aspirin, ibuprofen or similar products (Advil, Motrin, Aleve) for 2 weeks prior to filler
  • Avoid fish oil, Vitamin E, and gingko biloba for 2 weeks prior to filler
  • Eat spinach, kale and celery the week before to boost your levels of Vitamin K
  • Apply VitaMedica Arnica + K Cream to areas most affecting by bruising (around the mouth and under the eyes) for several days before injection. This contains Arnica and Vitamin K and is available for purchase at Rejuvent or at RejuventSkinCare.com

I am on a prescription blood thinner. Is that okay?

Let us know in advance if you are on a prescription blood thinner.

When can I resume my workout schedule?

Do NOT work out the same day after the filler – the next day is okay.

Should I follow my regular skin care regimen after filler injections?

Do NOT put on Retin-A or strong Retinols the night after filler – okay to resume the day after.

If I am tender or sore after injections, what can I take?

Do NOT take ibuprofen or aspirin for 36 hours after filler. Tylenol is okay.

When will my ideal result set in?

Do NOT have an important social event for 10 days after filler – you will look your best after filler at 3-4 weeks after the injection.

How can I maintain my new Liquid Facelift?

Stay hydrated – hyaluronic acid (Perlane, Restylane, Juvéderm, Voluma and Belotero) binds to water, the more hydrated you are the better you will look.

It is best not to go more than 6 months between filler appointments. By maintaining this schedule you will not only be able to maintain your look, but also make continued improvements (when adequate amount of filler are placed). After two years of this type of schedule, the majority of patients will require less filler per visit than during the first two years.

“I had been using fillers on and off for a few years before coming to Rejuvent and the difference between Dr. Bomer and other “Injection Specialists” is quite noticeable. First is the fact that Dr. Bomer does all the injections herself and does not delegate to a mid level practitioner. She takes the time, every time, to study your face to see where and which product is needed… even if it’s only a little Botox. Her willingness to share knowledge of the face and how these products work usually answers my questions before I have to ask and when I do she answers them thoroughly.

Before coming to Rejuvent I was led to believe that all fillers do the same thing… some might last a little longer, but they are pretty much the same..not so. Since working with Dr. Bomer I’ve achieved great results and a bit of an education. Thank you Dr. Bomer for your patience and your skill.” – Filler Patient, Scottsdale
